Final: Merging

Putting a bulb on the structure.

Final: base

At first I want to make the whole stand like the above but it's too hard with strong wire.

The above pictures are the one I try making without using any mold

Wire base is one hard part to make... The above are some steps of the procedure.

at last, spray silver color on as the wire doesn't look nice.

Final: Curtains

There are overall two curtains. First, is a complete black one where I tried making before and another is a photograph curtain.

Materials used:
  • Black TOA acrylic spray
  • Translucent paper
  • Printed ice picture
  • Camera>Printer
Procedure (black curtain)
  1. Cut out a translucent paper slightly larger than the circumference of the resin.
  2. Spray Black acrylic on it.
  3. Wait for it todry.
  4. Try covering the curtain on resin and stick glue to make it stay.
Procedure (Photograph)
  1. Photograph ice on a black background.
  2. Print them in an appropriated size.
  3. Stick them together on a translucent paper that is cut out a translucent paper slightly larger than the circumference of the resin.
  4. Try covering the curtain on resin and stick glue to make it stay.

Final: Body

The body is made out of resin; the procedure is the same as the one failed to make.
After it dries take the plastic out::

Use Latex glue to create more texture as it is too smooth.

Experiment Toward Final 5

Maaking the black curtain by acrylic spray adn... I think it works if there are several layers of color....!!

Final (Failed)

The can got topple by someone...so I have to make a new one.

Experiment Toward Final 4

Try creating the final in mini version...The idea is like my first thumbnail where there are three parts. First is a black section; second is a photography part; and last is a clear part. As a result, the idea doesn'ti work as the transparent part can see the difference inside.

Experiment Toward Final 3

Creating a tube for lamp using plastic but there is no thickness so it doesn't work... Resin is better.

Experiment Toward Final 2

Pasted translucent paper on transparent plastic.

Try creating the ice texture but it doesn't look like ice at all.

Experiment Toward Final 1

I try using 80 gsm. paper to cover the lamp that I am going to use and see the effect.

Final: Lamp

My final work is gonna be like a lamp that can demonstrate an illusion in different perspective of ice's beauty...

Thumbnails

The Final thumbnail and I am doing the 4th one...

The goal of my work is to show that beauty is just illusion therefore, I would like to make a physical object that can open and the view would change when discovering that it is not only what you see. Therefore, I think of putting a scent that would remind one of coldness.

I am currently making 1c and 2a

Approaching the work.

1. Cut a piece of cardboard into square pieces and stick them together to make a cube form.
2. Cut the edges to make them look like ice cube.
3.Arrange the cubes into the form that would make it look like ice arrangment. Then tape them together. Try to preserve the space.

4. Mix latex glue and watertogether in a bowl.
5. Stir them.
6. Tear newspaper into an adequate size.
7. Dip newspaper into latex mixed with water and stick them onto the lump.

Statement

Mind map

As I want to represent the illusion. I have an idea of opening up sth and look in the inside to see that what is outside is just illusion. Therefore, the idea that I think of has a contribution to clothing, snake skin, etc. They are the things that effect outer appearance.
